Thermo-Calc 2015b includes an entirely new calculation activity, the Property Model Calculator. The new Property Model Calculator allows users to predict and optimize properties of materials based on models.
This release includes a small selection of general models written by Thermo-Calc Software. These include a coarsening model, a phase transitional model and a surface energy model. Users can evaluate several models simultaneously over a range of compositions and cross plot their results.
Additionally, the new Property Model Calculator, for example, allow users to conduct an uncertainty analysis and plot the results in either a histogram or as a probability plot.
Future releases will include new models with packages for specific materials, starting with steel. The long-term plan is to create a comprehensive library of models for different classes of materials, as well as an easy way for users to write their own models to be used with the calculator.
