At Thermo-Calc Software, we make software and databases that are used by materials scientists and engineers to generate data that helps them design better materials and improve materials processing conditions.

Our flagship product, Thermo-Calc, is used by more than 1800 organizations located in more than 60 countries around the world to drive innovation through improved, advanced materials.

Our company headquarters is located in Stockholm, Sweden, and we have fully-owned subsidiaries of Thermo-Calc Software located in Pittsburgh, USA, and Seoul, Korea. Additionally, we have local representation through partnerships in several other countries around the world, allowing us to provide customer and technical support to most of our users in their local language and time zone. Meet Thermo-Calc Software’s CEO: Dr. Anders Engström

Dr. Anders Engström is the Chief Executive Officer of Thermo-Calc Software AB. He has held this position since 2010 and has been working at the company since 2001. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Thermo-Calc Software Inc. and Chairman of the Board of Directors for QuesTek Europe AB, a joint subsidiary of Thermo-Calc Software AB.

Anders received a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 1996. During his time at KTH, he was involved in the early development of key aspects of Thermo-Calc Software products. He has, for example, contributed to the development of the Diffusion Module (DICTRA).

Before joining Thermo-Calc Software in 2001, he spent two years (1997-1998) with ABB Corporate Research in Switzerland and three years (1998-2001) working for Sandvik Hard Materials in Sweden. He has extensive experience in, among other things, Ni-based superalloys and cemented carbides, and is an expert in the CALPHAD (Computer Coupling of Phase Diagrams and Thermochemistry) methodology.
