Thermo-Calc 2025a Additive Manufacturing Module Patch (Windows)

Error message: None of the simulations converged!

Released: 12 February 2025

Users of Thermo-Calc 2025a running the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Module on a Windows computer may encounter a “None of the simulations converged!” error, which prevents AM Module simulations from completing. This is due to a Windows 11 update released in February 2025 that introduced a compatibility issue. A patch is available to resolve this.

If you are running Thermo-Calc 2025a and the AM Module on a Windows computer, and you get this error message, we recommend you apply the patch.

Red triangle with exclamation point. If you apply the patch before Windows 11 is updated, the AM Module will stop working. Therefore, we strongly advise that you only apply the patch if you are experiencing the issues described here.

To apply the patch:

  1. Close all Thermo-Calc instances.
  2. Click this link to download the patch, called patch_AM_module.
  3. Extract the patch from the zip file.
  4. Right-click the downloaded file and select Run as Administrator.
  5. A command prompt window will appear and automatically run. When prompted, press any key to continue.
  6. Close the command prompt window.
  7. Reopen Thermo-Calc and resume using the software.
