Magnesium-based Alloys Databases
TCMG9 is our thermodynamic and properties database designed for use with magnesium-based alloys. It can be used for a wide range of compositions from pure Mg to very complex Mg-based commercial magnesium alloys. MOBMG2 is the corresponding mobility database needed for use with the add-on kinetic modules.

TCMG9 for Thermodynamic and Properties Data
TCMG9 is a thermodynamic and properties database for magnesium-based alloys. It can be used for a wide range of compositions from pure magnesium to very complex magnesium-based commercial magnesium alloys. It can be used for calculating phase diagrams and thermodynamic properties of assessed systems, but also for predicting phase equilibria and simulating solidification processes for a wide range of magnesium alloys of industrial relevance, including:
Highlights of the Latest Release
The new version of our Magnesium-based Alloys Database, TCMG9, was released with Thermo-Calc 2026b. For this release, one of the primary focuses was on revising the Gd–Mg system to align with newly determined experimental phase boundaries and the metastable phases that emerge during aging, thereby enabling age-hardening simulations using the Precipitation Module (TC-PRISMA). Furthermore, several ternary systems, including Ca–Mg–Zn, Ce–Mg–Zn, and Nd–Mg–Zn, were critically reassessed. Read the Release Notes for more details.
