Thermo-Calc Software hosted our largest ever User Group Meeting on June 16, 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. The meeting was attended by over 100 people.
The morning began with two presentations on the upgrades in Thermo-Calc 2016a, which include improved speed and several new databases.
The rest of the day consisted of several presentations from Thermo-Calc users in industry and academia who discussed in-depth applications of Thermo-Calc, the Diffusion Module (DICTRA) and the Precipitation Module (TC-PRISMA). Additionally, there was a presentation on the history of thermodynamic and kinetic modelling and one on the state of integrated computational materials engineering, known as ICME.
The presentations gave a nice glimpse into of some of the interesting work that is being done using Thermo-Calc and how these tools fit into larger research and development projects.
