The aluminum databases TCAL7 and MOBAL6, developed by Thermo-Calc Software, can be used together with our comprehensive suite of computational tools to calculate many different properties of aluminum alloys.
In the presentation, “Modern CALPHAD databases for aluminum alloys and their applications,” Dr. Hai-Lin Chen, the primary developer of the databases, discusses the development of the databases and presents the broad usage of the Thermo-Calc aluminum databases. Dr. Chen shows that the databases can be used to perform solidification simulations, precipitation simulations, heat treatment simulations, and more. They can also be used to model properties such as viscosity, thermal conductivity, electrical resistivity, and surface tension of liquid.
In the presentation, which runs about 20 minutes in length, Dr. Chen gives several detailed examples of applications of the databases, for example, how the database can be applied to aluminum recycling.
