New Getting Started Guide for the Diffusion Module (DICTRA)

Our popular Getting Started Guide for Thermo-Calc was published in April 2022, and we are happy to announce that a Getting Started Guide for the Diffusion Module (DICTRA) is now available.

The new getting started guide shows how to set up a simple diffusion simulation calculation with the Diffusion Module (DICTRA). It is for you who are new to the Diffusion Module and want a quick guide to get started with your calculations in the Graphical Mode of DICTRA. The guide gives you easy-to-follow instructions on how to set up your diffusion simulations by guiding you through the set-up of a calculation example of an Fe-Cr-Ni diffusion couple with different nickel contents.

About the Diffusion Module (DICTRA)

The Diffusion Module (DICTRA) is one of our Add-on Modules that makes modeling multicomponent diffusion-controlled transformations simple and accessible. The Diffusion Module (DICTRA) is based on the numerical solution of the multicomponent diffusion equations and the CALPHAD approach.

Additional Guides Coming Soon!

The Getting Started Guide for the Diffusion Module (DICTRA) is our second getting started guide. We are working on developing more guides for our Add-On Modules, such as the Precipitation Module (TC-PRISMA) and Process Metallurgy Module. In June 2023 we released the Additive Manufacturing Module Getting Started Guide, to help users get started with the new Additive Manufacturing Module which was included in Thermo-Calc 2023b.
