Thermo-Calc Software Giving Two Talks at TMS 2015

Thermo-Calc Software will be giving two exciting talks this year at TMS 2015 in Orlando, FL, USA, and we hope you’ll join us.

DICTRA Multiphase Moving Phase Boundary Simulations Under Local Equilibrium Conditions

The first talk is on a new model that has recently been implemented in the DICTRA software package.

The model makes it possible to perform 1D moving phase boundary simulations where multiple phases are allowed on either side of a phase interface. It is then, for example, possible to perform simulations like “\alpha + MC -> \gamma + MC” or “\alpha -> \beta + \beta^\prime”. During the talk we will describe the model and give some example simulations.

The talk, DICTRA Multiphase Moving Phase Boundary Simulations Under Local Equilibrium Conditions, will be presented by Henrik Larsson and is scheduled for 4:35pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. It is part of the session Materials Genome: ICME and CALPHAD-Based Materials Design 3, which starts at 2:00 PM.

The Role of CALPHAD Based Tools in an ICME Modeling Infrastructure

The second talk, The Role of CALPHAD Based Tools in an ICME Modeling Infrastructure, will be given by Paul Mason and explores why CALPHAD is a successful approach to modeling thermodynamics and how CALPHAD type tools can be integrated with other simulation tools as part of an ICME computational framework.

The Role of CALPHAD Based Tools in an ICME Modeling Infrastructure will be presented at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 by Paul Mason. It is part of the session Materials Genome: ICME and CALPHAD-Based Materials Design 4, which starts at 8:30 AM.
